Use These 5 Sleep-Help Devices to Improve Your Sleep

According to the statistics, one in three Americans is deprived of sleep. This is a huge number, and the issue is critical.

Sleep is one of the most important aspects of life, and when it is affected, you and I won’t be able to function properly; we will feel tired throughout the day, and it would be pretty bad for our health.

As we surround ourselves with helpful technology, it sometimes meddles with human nature. For example, your body needs to avoid any blue light around bedtime, and your mobile phones emit exactly that. That’s not good for your health. While we can’t completely avoid such things, you can take the help of the same thing that disrupts your sleep to improve it – the technology.

“How, exactly?”, you might be wondering.

There are gadgets like a white noise machine, smart sleep goggles, and more that can help you fall asleep quickly and bring back the good quality sleep that you once had in your childhood. Do you want to know more about such gadgets? Yes? Great, let’s dive into the details.

  1. White Noise Machine

Have you ever been in a situation when your car or your neighbor’s car started making that annoying alarm noise? Or maybe someone in your home is up and binge-watching on Netflix in a loud voice? It must have been terrible.

Sometimes, tightly shutting down your doors and windows isn’t enough. The only solution, and an effective one, left is a white noise machine.

A white noise machine filters out the annoying sounds that can disrupt your sleep and mimics the sound of a river flowing, wind whistling through the leaves, crickets chirping, and more. Your body has been naturally adapted to listen to such voices and fall asleep, and the white noise machine does exactly that.

It connects to your home WiFi and is controlled by an app. Speaking of which, make sure to have a reliable internet connection at home, so that you don’t have to hustle your way while you are trying to rest. I use Cox Internet to connect all my smart home devices, including the white noise machine, which is my go-to for seamless home setup.

  1. Sleep Mask

Believe me, this is a lifesaver, especially for people sensitive to light.

Sometimes you have to share a room with your girlfriend, your siblings, or someone, and they might turn on the light at night. This can seriously disrupt your sleep.

To avoid such a thing from happening in the first place, I recommend using a sleep mask that will block any light from coming to your eyelids. Plus, it helps promote sleep by producing melatonin naturally in your body. Melatonin is the chemical that helps you fall asleep.

Anyway, make sure to get the only sleep mask that is comfortable, wraps around your head neatly, and can be worn in different positions. I have one from Therabody – it is incredibly thin and comfortable, blocks out light completely, and as a cherry on top, it has a built-in massage feature that I rarely use, personally, but you can use it.

All in all, it’s a great sleep device that can enhance your sleep.

  1. Sleep Tracker

The first step to solving a problem is knowing the problem. To deal with disturbing sleep patterns, you need to know your sleep habits before you can find the solution.

Oura Ring 4 is my unbiased choice for a sleep tracker. Why do I like it? Most sleep trackers out there are bulky. While they might get the job done, there is a chance that their big, bulky size can disrupt your sleep. This Oura Ring 4 sits comfortably on your finger and tracks your sleep pattern. Whether you lie down flat or sleep on your side, it can track your sleep pattern, heart rate, and more.

The data is presented on an app, and it has been tested to be fairly accurate. You can present that data to a doctor and then find problems with your sleep. Using this gadget is a great way to improve your sleep.

  1. Smart Mattress

Last but not least, a smart mattress can seriously change your sleep habits.

The modern-day smart mattresses are not only highly customizable but also capable of tracking your sleep. You can control the temperature of the smart mattress, make it soft or stiff depending on which one suits you, and it can bring insights into your sleep pattern.

One of the best things I adore about these smart mattresses is their ability to adjust each side according to the sleeper. Your partner might like to have a warm bed to go to sleep, while you might like something cool. In any case, a smart mattress can adjust accordingly.

Overall, this is the best gift that you can give to yourself for a good night’s sleep.
